　1.1 外贸函电翻译的重要性

　中国加入世贸组织以后，涌现出很多商贸公司从事进出口贸易活动，

　国际贸易活动中书面交流信息主要手段之一的外贸函电是企业对外

　公共宣传中的这样手段。外贸函电涉及外贸活动的各个环节，贯穿

　外贸活动的始终。在国际贸易中的地位变得愈加重要。正确的读懂

　外贸函电活翻译函电对于公司树立良好的形象极为重要，甚至决定

　着贸易的成败。

　外贸函电是具有法律效力的文件，在贸易信息交流中扮演着不可忽

　视的角色，外贸函电翻译水平的提高是成功沟通的第一步。在现代

　国际贸易过程中，对外贸易的各个环节大多通过函电进行，都离不

　开外贸函电的书写。由于外贸函电是商家为了达到成功交易目标而

　采用的一种信息交流方式，因此，在外贸函电翻译过程中，如何把

　握好语气，让对方感觉到具有说服力又不失诚恳，要立场坚定而又

　不失亲切是每个外贸人员需要注意的问题。

　著名作家老舍说过： “翻译工作不是结结巴巴的学舌，而是漂漂亮亮

　的再创造。

　”在国际贸易中，买卖双方通过洽商，就各项交易条件取

　得一致协议后，交易即告达成，买卖双方当事人即存在合同关系。

　国际买卖双方合同的商订是整个交易过程中最重要的一个环节，虽

　然可以通过口头的方式进行，但实践中，主要是通过函电的方式进

　行。

　“函”是“封套 ”的意思，即是指信件，而 “电 ”即是包括电报、传

　真、电子数据交换和电子邮件等在内的数据电文的统称。所以说，

　函电不仅是洽商国际买卖合同的手段，而且是签订国际买卖合同的最主要的形式之一，所以说，对于建立外贸函电关系的双方来说，

　很大程度上取决于我们对外贸函电的再创造是否足够漂亮。

　1.2 外

　贸函电的含义

　外贸函电，翻译成英文为 foreign correspondence ，是指在日常的外贸交易中用以传递信息、处理商务事宜以及联络和沟通关系的信

　函、电讯文书。常用的商务信函主要有商洽函、询问函、答复函、

　请求函、告知函和联系函等，是我们建立对外贸易关系和外贸往来

　的一种非常重要的沟通手段。

　1.3 外贸函电的构成 ①letterhead

　（信头）

　信头是指信纸上印刷或打印的七爷名称、厂称、地址、电话号码等。

　信头应当包含写信人的基本情况，一般置于信纸的最上方。

　②date （日期）

　日期通常位于信头的右下方位置，或在寄信人姓名和地址的下方位

　置。月份不使用缩写，也不要数字代替，一般用英文表示，第一个

　字母是大写，也有时缩写。英式顺序是日、月、年；美式顺序是月、

　日、年。

　③inside name and address （收信人的名称及地址）

　④salutation （称谓）

　收信人姓名之前常用称呼敬语，相同于 “阁下 ”、“先生 ”等类似礼貌

　性称谓，如使用 dear m./mrs./miss/ms. 表示知道对方姓名；如使用

　dear sir ，dear madam, 则表示不知道对方姓名，如见到 dear prof.smith 等，则表示对方职务较高，所以在称呼敬语和姓名中间使用了职务名称。⑤ body （正文）

　正文是信函的实质性内容，要求语法正确、切中要害，结构上表现

　出段落划分明确，每段集中于一个话题的特点。布局具有艺术性，

　整齐美观。⑥ complimentary close （结尾）

　英语函电的结尾是写信人的谦称，相当于 “敬上 ”的意思。若收信人

　为公司，谦称则常用： yours truly,yours faithfully 等；若收信人为

　个人，则常用 yours sincerely 等。

　⑦signature and de-signature （写信人签名或署名）

　签署由两部分构成，一是写信人的签名，二是打印出的写信人的姓

　名。

　很多外贸函电除上述内容外，还经常包括以下部分：注意事项

　（attention line ）；事由、标题（ subject line ）；经办人代号

　（the reference notation ）；附件（ the enclosure ）；抄送（ the

　carbon copy notation ）；附言（ the postscript ）等。
